MANILA – Two men robbed the house of Senator Jinggoy Estrada early morning Saturday in Quezon City.
Police said the robbers broke into Estrada's home in Corinthian Hills before 3 a.m.
The thieves reportedly went straight to the second floor and managed to eat, smoke, and even defecate on the balcony of the senator's home.
One of the suspects, Eric Dalagan, was beaten up after security guards caught up with him while trying to escape, DZMM reported.
He was brought to the Quirino Memorial Medical Center.
Pieces of jewelry were recovered from him. However, police have yet to determine the items carted away by the other suspect.
Authorities say the two men once worked on the house of the senator.
Estrada is currently detained in Camp Crame for plunder in connection with the pork barrel scam. -- Report from Dennis Datu, DZMM
