MANILA, Philippines – A sports utility vehicle (SUV) collided with an ambulance in the vicinity of Muñoz, Quezon City on Thursday, leaving two people hurt.

The injured victims were identified as Daniel Velarde, a patient headed for the hospital, and nurse Loren Ann Melosantos.

Velarde, who was scheduled for a dialysis, sustained a deep wound on his leg while Melosantos sustained wounds on her face.

Initial investigation showed that the ambulance was hit by a black Toyota SUV (ZBC 818) driven by a certain Ivan Garcia.

Garcia told police that he failed to notice the crossing ambulance due to the heavy number of vehicles along EDSA.

Police investigation was still ongoing, as of posting. -- Report from Johnson Manabat, dzMM
