MANILA – Several illegal campaign posters were taken down by the Commission on Elections (Comelec) and the Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) in Parañaque City on Wednesday, 12 days before the midterm elections.

Authorities nearly filled a truck with the seized posters, confiscated from Sucat Road until the South Luzon Expressway (SLEX).

Atty. Jonalyn Savellano, election officer of Comelec-Parañaque, said the posters seized were the ones on trees, electric posts and electric wires.

Oversized posters were also taken down.

The candidates caught with illegal posters will be receiving a notification from Comelec and may face charges for violating the Fair Election Act. - Report from Dennis Datu, dzMM
