MANILA - The emergency slide of a Boeing 767 plane of All Nippon Airways (ANA) was accidentally activated while the aircraft was parked at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) Terminal 3 Thursday afternoon.
NAIA Terminal 3 manager Octavio "Bing" Lina, in an interview with ABS-CBN, confirmed the incident.
Lina said over 160 passengers of ANA flight 869 were disembarking at Gate 113 when a flight crew member accidentally pulled the safety pin of the emergency slide.
Lina said the emergency slide, located at the right tail end sector, was immediately deflated.
A replacement aircraft was dispatched by ANA to ferry the affected passengers whose flight was delayed for almost three hours.
The aircraft underwent routine safety inspection and flew back to Japan. -- By Raoul Esperas
