Managements of the Metrostar Express (Metro Rail Transit) and the Light Rail Transit (LRT) have announced that its respective operations will temporarily stop from Maundy Thursday to Easter Sunday.

Metrostar’s public information office said its trains will stop plying the whole stretch of EDSA from April 9 to April 12 in observance of the Holy Week.

It said it will take advantage of the long break to conduct maintenance check of the rail system.

The Light Rail Transit Authority (LRTA), meanwhile, said the operating hours of Lines 1 (Baclaran-Monumento) and Lines 2 (Santolan - Recto) will be cut short from April 6 to April 8.

Northbound trains of LRT Line 1 will operate from 5 a.m. to 9 p.m. and southbound trains will stop running at 9:30 p.m.

LRT’s Line 2 (westbound) will start operating at 5 a.m. until 9:30 p.m. and eastbound trains will stop operations at 10 p.m.

The LRTA and the Metrostar Express management said all lines will stop operations from April 9 to April 12 and resume operations April 13.
