MAKATI CITY (UPDATED) -- A celebrity fashion designer was found dead inside his house in Brgy. Palanan, Makati City on Tuesday morning, police said.

The victim was identified as Kenneth Tay Chua, 38, single, and a resident of 4352 Dayap Street, Brgy. Palanan in Makati.

His hands were tied and his body had several stab wounds, police said. His neck was also slashed.

Chua's body was discovered around 11:25 a.m. by his parents, who told police they left their son still alive around 4:30 p.m. on Monday.

Police said they are looking at robbery as motive behind the murder, because the victim's wallet, ATM, money, and cellphone are missing.

There were no signs of forced entry, police said.

Chua's parents told investigators that upon entering the front door of Chua's home, they saw blood smeared on the floor, leading to his bathroom where they found him.

Chua may have fought his attackers, evident by the bruises in his face, according to police.

“Si Kenneth ay may kalakihan… 'di kakayanin ng isang tao na maitali [siya],” said Senior Supt. Manuel Lukban Jr., chief of the Makati City police.
