The organizers of a bike charity event to be held in Alabang aims to turn the community into a safe and sustainable one.
Speaking to ANC's "The Daily Serve," Patrick Joson of Fondo Manila said the goal of the event is to provide as many helmets as possible for all the bikers and cyclists in the area.
"The whole idea of sharing the road is to provide a sustainable lifestyle, really healthy and sustainable lifestyle. With that, we encourage people to wear helmets," he said.
Alabang, where the vent will be held, is popular for cyclists and bikers, but not all of them wear safety gear.
"Alabang is known to be a healthy and active community. It's known to have cyclists and runners within the week, we bike there. It's also known for accidents, and that's a critical factor that we try to address. So by having helmets available to everyone, you can borrow helmets. That's the core of the project," Joson said.
"Share the Road: A Bike Charity Event" will be held on February 21 at Alabang Town Center. It is organized by Fondo Manila and Colliers International.
