MANILA - Two mothers living near the Apostolic Nunciature could not hide their joy after their children were blessed and kissed by Pope Francis.

Angeline Sansolis, 23, and Pearl Beraquit, 38, were just waiting near the Nunciature on Friday evening, hoping to catch a glimpse of the Pope, when the unexpected happened.

At that time, Pope Francis had just come from the Mall of Asia (MOA) Arena where he met with families and the poor.

So ang ginawa ko po nag-sign language na lang po ako," Sansolis shared in an interview on radio dzMM on Saturday.

She said a guard who saw her then called her and led her and her daughter, Gabriela, toward the Pope.

Because of the Pope's blessing, Sansolis said she did not bathe her daughter today.

Like Sansolis, Beraquit was also overwhelmed after her three-year-old daughter, Samantha, was kissed by the Pope.

She said she appealed to the security guards to have her daughter blessed by the pontiff, noting that her daughter is suffering from a muscular disorder.

Nakakakilabot po," Beraquit said. -- Reports from Dennis Datu, dzMM; Niko Baua, ABS- CBN News
