MANILA – A teenage girl fell to her death while allegedly taking selfies at the roof deck of a condominium in Manila.

Police Officer 3 Al Layugan said the victim, 19-year-old Cristina Marie Pagalilauan, went with a friend to the roof deck of the 20-storey Dahlia Tower ng Suntrust Parkview Condominium along Natividad Lopez Street to take photos.

In an attempt to get a selfie with a better background, Pagalilauan, a student of a university in the city, allegedly climbed up the parapet of the roof deck.

In her statement to the police, Pagalilauan's friend said she tried to stop the victim from going up the ledge but the latter did not heed the warning.

Pagalilauan's friend said she did not notice immediately that the victim already lost her balance and fell from the building.

Pagalilauan's boyfriend lives in the condominium but was in the province at the time of the accident. – report from Zhander Cayabyab, dzMM
