The Pacquiao family welcomed Tuesday the arrival of their newest member who was born in the United States.
Jinky, wife of People’s Champ Manny Pacquiao, gave birth 6:37 a.m. (10:37 p.m. Manila time) to a healthy baby girl at the Los Angeles Metropolitan Hospital.
Manny accompanied his wife in the delivery of the child and reportedly was the one who cut the umbilical cord of their fourth child.
Manny was reportedly very happy at the arrival of her newest daughter whom he had wanted to name Queen Elizabeth.
Reportedly also in the hospital were Jinky's sister, Janet and mother, Rosalina.
A few hours earlier, the Pacquiao family was anticipating the arrival of their new baby with members at both sides of the Pacific expressing their excitement.
Jinky was reportedly brought to the Los Angeles Metropolitan Hospital at around 7 p.m. Manila time after her water broke. She was brought to the hospital in a Lincoln Navigator with the People's Champ accompanying her.
Her doctor, Norma Salceda, reportedly said she expected Jinky to give birth in three to five hours.
On Tuesday, the Pacquiao couple, who are currently in California where Jinky is expected to give birth, went around a Los Angeles mall as a form of exercise for the expectant mother.
Jinky also bought around $10,000 worth of Louis Vuitton products at the said mall.
After spending some time at the mall, the couple went to their doctor's appointment to confirm Jinky's exact due date.
Meanwhile, Dionesia Pacquiao, who is in General Santos City, said that she is excited for the arrival of her newest grandchild, a girl.
She said she first thought Queen Elizabeth, the planned name for Manny's daughter, was a funny choice for her granddaughter's name.
She also said that even if she wanted to be with her grandchildren in Los Angeles, she chose to remain in General Santos because she is not comfortable on long-haul trips.
Nanay Dionesia said she instead busies herself by giving away calendars with a picture of the whole Pacquiao family to their neighbors and citymates.
Pacman press tour in London by January
On the other hand, Atty. Jeng Gacal, Pacquiao's lawyer, said that regarding his possible face-off with Ricky Hatton in May, Manny tentatively will have a press tour in London by the end of January, and another one at different US cities by the end of February.
Pacquiao's training is tentatively set to start by March 1. With reports from ABS-CBN North America Bureau; Anne Santos, ABS-CBN Soccksargen; and ABS-CBN News
