MANILA - Comelec Chairman Sixto Brillantes today revealed that the poll body's votes on the retention of controversial party-list groups Akbayan, Bayan Muna, Gabriela and Anakpawis in the party-list system has changed.
Brillantes, however, today failed to reveal the final vote on the fates of these groups as his colleagues have not yet finished their majority and dissenting opinions on the matter.
He said he may make an announcement Tuesday.
Brillantes revealed newly-appointed Comelec Commissioner Grace Padaca has not joined the vote for now and will only do so to break any possible ties.
He added that votes change as their discussions go along.
Brillantes maintained they are under no Palace pressure to retain Akbayan, which is a close ally of the President.
He said he previously told interested parties not to call him anymore to avoid further muddling the situation.
