Ona visits Arroyo, says she's 'okay'

MANILA, Philippines - Health Secretary Enrique Ona personally visited former President Gloria Macapagal Arroyo last Friday as part of his evaluation of her medical condition.

Ona was requested by Justice Secertary Leila de Lima to help the Department of Justice assess Mrs. Arroyo's medical condition and medical abstract following her application for an Allow Departure Order (ADO) to seek medical treatment abroad.

Ona is expected to submit his report and recommendation to De Lima on Wednesday.

Ona told ABS-CBN News "she is okay," referring to Mrs. Arroyo.

He begged to give further details pending his official report to the justice chief.

Mrs. Arroyo is covered by an immigration Watch List Order (WLO) due to 2 electoral sabotage cases filed agaisnt her and several others for allegedly rigging the 2007 mid-term polls in favor of then administration senatorial candidates.
