MANILA - The Philippine National Police (PNP) will conduct a 3-day long-distance drive for their newly acquired Patrol jeeps and motorcycles made by the Indian brand Mahindra.
The Indian motor brand won the bidding to supply 560 units of the patrol jeep for P504 million at 895,000 pesos each.
The motorcycle, which has a 135cc engine, was acquired at P89,000 each. It has a total contract price of P72 million for 806 units.
Before delivery of the bulk of the order, the PNP will test drive the jeep from Camp Crame to Baguio carrying 14 sacks of rice.
It will also be subjected to other power and endurance tests.
