MANILA, Philippines - After failed biddings, the Commission on Elections special bids and awards committee (SBAC) is rebidding the contracts for transmission services, compact flash cards and rechargeable batteries for the May 2013 midterm elections.
At the SBAC pre-bid conference today, SBAC chairwoman Helen Aguila Flores said they will soon bid out contracts for ballot boxes, ballot packaging, deployment, technical support personnel, national support center and system integrator depending on the decision of the Comelec en banc.
Flores said that so far, only Smartmatic bought bid documents for both lots while other bidders only intend to bid for parts of the lots.
She said the SBAC has until November to finish the bidding for the requirements.
Flores also disclosed they are entering into supply contracts already for toners and marking pens.
