MANILA - A lawyer accusing Vice-President Jejomar Binay of corruption on Thursday said he will reveal details on 5 more buildings aside from the P2.2-billion Makati City Hall Building 2.

Lawyer Renato Bondal, a former barangay chairman in Makati, did not disclose on Bandila which buildings are involved but said two more witnesses will surface to support the plunder complaint filed against Binay at the Ombudsman over the alleged overpricing of the Makati City Hall Building 2 project.

"There are five more buildings," Bondal said. "Dalawa pa (te-testigo)."

He claimed that the two more witnesses previously belonged to the inner circle of the Binay political family.

"Lumabas na rin si Vice-Mayor Nestor Mercado, so sila mga inner circle iyan eh. These people coming out, I was informed, also form part of the inner circle of the Binays before," Bondal said.

He has accused Binay of pocketing millions of pesos in kickbacks from the construction of the Makati City Hall Building 2, as well as other construction projects in the city while he was still mayor.

Bondal said he doesn't have an ax to grind against Binay despite losing in the elections.

"Sa akin hindi po iyun eh, kasi bilang oposisyon ng Makati hindi lang naman pang election kami eh. Kailangan pagkatapos ng election pag-aralan din namin ang administrasyon, kapag may nakita kaming katiwalian, punahin namin. Itong napuna namin, atsaka, like iyung favorite quote ko nga na sinasabi, 'losing in an election is not a crime, stealing is.'"

Bondal, who denied being a pawn in a political demolition job against the vice-president, said he only wants Binay, his son Junjun, and others involved in the alleged irregularity to be put behind bars.

He said he and his family have received death threats.

"Ako medyo ninerbiyos din ako doon, kasi it was texted to my wife's cellphone. Hindi namin alam yung number. Nung nabasa ko, nakalagay doon, masyado daw akong matapang, now kung kukunin nila ang wife ko, gagahasain, papatayin. Siguro daw lulubayan ko na ang mga Binay," he said. "It's in the cellphone of my wife."

Binay on Thursday denied allegations of corruption in the construction of the building.

He said the cost of the Makati City Hall Building 2 is either lower or almost the same as those of other government buildings.

Binay also claimed that Bondal was only guessing and did not have hard proof on his allegations, including the alleged overpriced cakes that the city government is giving to residents.

Bondal admitted on Bandila that he doesn't personally know the exact cost of the cakes.

"Ang sinasabi namin, wala sa Makati ang nakakaalam kung ano talaga ang presyo nung cake," he said. "Ang sinabi ko lang hinuhulaan ko but previously there was a tipster who told us na P1,000 plus ang cake na iyan."

Bondal has denied lying to the Senate on the cost of the cakes, which the Makati City government said only amount to around P300 each.

He, however, continued to claim that the cakes are the "livelihood" of Senator Nancy Binay.

Bondal also claimed he has been offered P50 million to be silent about the issue.

He has filed a case against Binay at the Ombudsman.

"Kami sinunod namin yung process," he said. "Nung sinampa namin nung July na sa Ombudsman, hindi naman po namin akalain na magkakaroon ng pakpak iyung demanda namin eh. Kasi noong naka-headline kami the following day, a few days after may imbitasyon na kami sa Senate na mag-aappear daw kami. We want to ventilate it so we welcome it."

Bondal admitted that he wants Binay's approval ratings to plunge for him to lose in the 2016 presidential race.

"Ah syempre ho, dahil yung katiwalian sa Makati baka mangyari sa buong bansa eh," he said.

He believes that Binay's ratings will drop in the next surveys.
