MANILA - Liberal Party (LP) standard bearer Mar Roxas on Tuesday revealed that he has started talking to Camarines Sur Rep. Leni Robredo regarding his search for a running mate in 2016.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of an event in Balara Elementary School in Quezon City, Roxas said his prospects also include Batangas Governor Vilma Santos and Senator Alan Peter Cayetano.
Roxas had sought neophyte Senator Grace Poe to be his running mate in next year's polls. Poe, however, is expected to announce her own presidential bid on Wednesday.
"Well ang Pangulo at yours truly ay naghain ng imbitasyon ng manatili sa Daang Matuwid. Nagsimula ang career ni Senador Grace sa Team PNoy ng Daang Matuwid at kaya inanyayahan natin na manatili sa Daang Matuwid. Nasa sa kanya ang pagpasya kung ano ang tatahakin niyang ways," Roxas said.
Robredo, meanwhile, on Monday said running for vice president next year is just "too much too soon."
In an interview on ANC, she said she will only run for vice president if she is convinced that no one else can do the job.

"Masasagot ko lang siya ng oo if I feel I am the only one who can do it. Eh maraming pwede. Sacrifice to country sa akin hihingin, eh pwede rin naman sa iba," she said.
