LONDON - While former LTA Inc. bookkeeper Rowena del Rosario was being interrogated in the Senate yesterday, Negros Occidental Rep. Ignacio “Iggy” Arroyo was undergoing treatment for his liver condition in a clinic here.

Members of the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee found inconsistencies in del Rosario's testimony and ordered her arrest. She will be detained in the Senate until the next hearing on Thursday.

Arroyo said her detention is unfair.

“Siyempre masama ang loob kasi matagal ko na ring kilala si Weng. She has been in the company for so long ever since I have been president of LTA corporation….Parang pamilya na siya e,” he said.

He refused to further comment on other issues hurled against him and his brother, former First Gentleman Jose Miguel Arroyo.

“Those who have said that we are liars, their minds have been made up already. Matagal na nilang na-decide yun.”

Arroyo has this to say to Senator Panfilo Lacson, however, “If you tell a lie long enough it becomes the truth. So huwag na lang nating pakinggan ang mga istorya ni Ping. Ilalaban na lang natin sa korte.”

Lacson was the first to reveal the chopper scandal involving the Arroyo brothers.

The younger Arroyo said he was advised by his doctor to avoid stressing himself.

The lawmaker is not flying back to Manila any time soon because he is completing the treatment cycle.

He said it will be physically impossible for him to be at the next scheduled Senate hearing on Thursday.
