MANILA - President Benigno Aquino III was heckled by members of militant group Anakbayan while he was delivering his speech in Iloilo City on Friday morning.

Aquino was speaking during the inauguration of infrastructure projects in the city.

During his speech, at least four members of Anakbayan attempted to cross the barricade, resulting in an altercation with the riot police.

They were immediately pulled away by the police from the crowd.

One of them, identified as Krishna Porquia, sustained a minor cut in her lip during the commotion. She was brought to the hospital.

The Anakbayan said they will consult their lawyer on what action they should take against the police, who they said stopped them from expressing their sentiments.

Earlier this month, a 19-year-old student from the Ateneo de Naga University, also a member of Anakbayan, was arrested after disrupting the President's speech during the Independence Day celebration in Naga City. -- With report from Joyce Clavecillas, ABS-CBN News Iloilo
