MANILA – Commission on Elections (Comelec) Chairman Sixto Brillantes said they will ask survey groups to comply with an almost forgotten poll body ruling for them to name their subscribers.
Brillantes said the survey groups have not complied with the Comelec's ruling and he's not sure if they received any order from the Supreme Court to stop the implementation of the order.
Brillantes said failure to comply with the ruling may mean criminal liability as it is an enforcement of the Fair Election Act.
Survey firms refused to name their subscribers despite the order of the Comelec upon the urging of the United Nationalist Alliance in April.
