ROXAS CITY, Philippines – Senator Mar Roxas, the running mate of Liberal Party standard-bearer Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III, rode a tricycle on his way to the polling center at the Rufina Andrada Santos Memorial School on Monday.
A supportive crowd welcomed him at the school when he got off the tricycle to enter Precinct Number 0244A in Barangay 5.
It only took a few minutes for Roxas to cast his vote.
Roxas later told reporters that voting in the automated polls was a good experience for him.
The Liberal Party vice-presidential bet and his wife Korina Sanchez arrived at 6 a.m. at the Roxas City airport. They flew on a private jet from Metro Manila.
The couple ate breakfast at the Roxas home in Barangay Baybay before Roxas went to the polling precinct.
After voting, Roxas and his wife immediately went back to Manila to continue monitoring developments in the country’s first automated nationwide polls. -- Report from Regi Adosto, ABS-CBN News Iloilo
