MANILA – More than 300,000 food packs have been prepared for residents in provinces that may be affected by Typhoon Chedeng, the Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) said.
A total of 300,790 food packs worth P105.73 million are prepositioned in DSWD’s 16 field offices.
The DSWD also said standby funds worth P19.7 million have been transferred to the nine regions expected to be affected by the typhoon, namely Regions 1, 2, 3, 4A, 4B, 5, 8, Cordillera Administrative Region and the National Capital Region.
Social Welfare Asec. Vilma Cabrera, meanwhile, said on Thursday that response clusters have been activated and are coordinating with local government units.
Emergency teams and quick response teams are also on standby and are ready to be deployed, Cabrera added.
“Mayroon ng coordination sa mga mayor ng local government units kung kailanganing mag-preemptive evacuation simula bukas,” she said.
