MANILA, Philippines- President Benigno Aquino III finally made it to an Ateneo graduation—after missing his own years ago.
Aquino was commencement speaker during the 152nd commencement exercises of his alma mater.
During his commencement address, Aquino recalled his youth in the Ateneo, and how he had to skip his graduation because his exit visa was expiring and he had to travel to US to be with his family.
Even as he inspired the graduating class to work for the good of the country, he could not resist attacking again his predecessor’s administration.
Aquino noted how the previous administration allowed the debt of state power firms to bloat.
Aquino also criticized the Ombudsman’s controversial plea bargain deal with former military comptroller Carlos Garcia.
He also criticized how his predecessor handled the victims of Typhoon Ondoy in 2009, compared to how his administration handled the first super typhoon of his administration.
