MANILA, Philippines - Senate local government committee chairman Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Wednesday said most senators are not bent on approving the bill postponing the August 2011 ARMM elections.
The House of Representatives passed the bill early this week.
He said time may not be enough because his committee would be able to tackle the proposal only when session resumes in May 9, or 7 days after the filing of candidacies on May 2.
"Once that period has begun, tuloy-tuloy na," Marcos told reporters. "Ipit na talaga sa oras."
However, Marcos said he will still conduct at least 3 hearings in the ARMM and one in the Senate.
