MANILA, Philippines - Lawyer Jose Roy III on Tuesday thanked supporters for their condolences over the death of his cousin, musician Karl Roy.
Roy said the family is very saddened by the loss of Karl.
"Not only was he my cousin, he was very close to me as one of my first clients. I continue to provide services for Karl. All throughout he had a very special gift. I've always been inspired by his great talent and his freedom," he said.
"I think what we had in common, we were both never approval seekers. Karl and I, we like to march to our own beat sometimes. That can be occasionally be perilous. I'd like to convey appreciation to every one who conveyed sympathies. We have no plans for his wake yet I'm sure his music will live on," he added.
Karl Roy, front man of the bands Advent Call, POT and Kapatid, died Tuesday morning. He was 43.
Lawyer Jose "Judd" Roy, meanwhile, was recently cited for contempt in the impeachment trial of Chief Justice Renato Corona for alleging that Malacañang offered P100 million in bribes to senator-judges.
