MANILA - Two of the Arroyos in the House of Representatives declared that they do not need Ombudsman Merceditas Gutierrez to shield them from prosecution for controversies during the 9-year tenure of former President, now Pampanga 2nd District Rep. Gloria Macapagal-Arroyo.

Arroyo’s eldest son, Ang Galing Pinoy Party-List Rep. Juan Miguel 'Mikey' Arroyo was asked if Arroyo herself needed Gutierrez.

His reply: “What GMA needs as does any Filipino citizen is a fair court wherein the Rules of Evidence are used in determining innocence or guilt.”

The younger Arroyo said Gutierrez also does not need Arroyo or her allies in Congress.

When asked if Gutierrez needed Arroyo’s allies, he said: “What she (Gutierrez) needs is for President Aquino’s allies in the Lower House to give her due process given to her by the Constitution in spite of the President’s order to speed up her impeachment.”

Mikey's uncle, Negros Occidental Rep. Ignacio Arroyo, said, “I can only speak for myself, and I do not need help from the Ombudsman.”

The former leader’s spokesman, Elena Bautista-Horn and youngest congressman-son, Rep. Diosdado Macapagal Arroyo did not answer questions sent via short message service (SMS).
