MANILA - Two police officials will face administrative and criminal charges for conniving and allowing detained Senator Ramon"Bong" Revilla Jr. to attend the birthday party of Sen. Juan Ponce Enrile in Camp Crame last month.
Custodial Center OIC Police Superintendent Eulogio Lovello Fabro and Duty Officer Police Senior Inspector Cecilia Tapaoan will face administrative and criminal charges for allowing Revilla to attend Enrile's birthday party at the Philippine National Police General Hospital last February 14.
The investigation was conducted by the PNP Criminal Investigation and Detection Group and signed by CIDG chief Police Director Benjamin Magalong.
The investigation on the officials and members of the Headquarters Support Service, the office in charge of guarding PNP detainees, showed that the two officials connived to allow Revilla to go to the PNP specialty room of the hospital to attend the party.
Initially, Revilla complained of a headache and hypertension and asked to be sent to the emergency room (ER) but instead of bringing him to the ER, he was brought to the room where Senator Enrile was celebrating his birthday.
Revilla, Enrile and Senator Jinggoy Estrada are facing plunder and graft charges for allegedly pocketing millions of pesos in kickbacks in the P10 billion pork barrel scam.
Estrada has also been accused of meeting Enrile during his birthday last February 14.
Meanwhile, the investigation absolved HSS director Chief Superintendent Alberto Supapo and other members of the command group from any liability after it was found out that they did not know what happened and were not aware of the visit.
Among those absolved were Chief Inspector Duds Raymond Santos, PO2 Mario Bello, PO2 Rico Padilla, PO2 Dennis delos Santos and PO1 Joelito Olayvar.
The copy of the investigation will be submitted to PNP officer-in- charge Leonardo Espina.
