MANILA - An investigator from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) told the Court on Tax Appeals (CTA) on Wednesday that Jeane Catherine Napoles, daughter of alleged pork barrel scam queen Janet Napoles, never paid taxes for her alleged California property.

The younger Napoles is being tried before the CTA for non-payment of P17.46 million in income taxes after she was found to be the owner of Unit 371 of Ritz Carlton Residences worth $2 million when she was just 21 years old.

Witness revenue officer Josephine Madera said, Napoles was 18 years old when she registered as a taxpayer. Napoles has two registrations, one in Alabang and one in Pasig City, even though her registered address is only in Alabang, Muntinlupa.

Upon review of the BIR integrated data system, investigators found that Napoles did not pay taxes on the year she supposedly bought the property in California.

The grant deed presented to the tax court showed that the property in Los Angele,s California was named after Napoles in July 18, 2011.
