MANILA - The Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) has postponed the stress debriefing for families of the 44 police Special Action Force (SAF) commandos killed in a clash in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
"We will wait until the families are ready. We know that they are still in the mourning period," DSWD Secretary Dinky Soliman said Friday.
The critical incident stress debriefing (CISD) is a series of sessions conducted by social workers to help families overcome the trauma caused by crisis like losing a loved one.
According to Soliman, the DSWD is reaching out to the families to assess their needs.
Meanwhile, the DSWD said it has received over P300,000 in cash donations for the elite cops' families through the donation account set up for the armed conflict in Maguindanao.
Interested donors may deposit to Landbank of the Philippines (Batasan Branch) Peso Current Account No. 3122-1026-28 under DSWD Donation Account for Armed Conflict in Mamasapano, Maguindanao.
A daily transaction update of the donations can be seen on the agency's website, http://dswd.gov.ph/.
