MANILA -- Senator Juan Ponce Enrile only smirked and played "Bejeweled" on his tablet while Senator Miriam Defensor Santiago spilled vitriol at his direction during her privilege speech Wednesday.
The current Senate minority leader and former Senate president earlier said the game exercises his mind.
"Pag ako gusto kong ma-exercise 'yong gray matter ko, nilalaro ko ito para makita ko kung gaano ako kabilis makatapos ng isang game," he told reporters in August.
He said he learned the game on his own after a staff at his former law office installed it.
Asked if he plays similar games such as Candy Crush, he quipped, "I don't like to eat candies."
Enrile, meanwhile, only shrugged off Santiago's allegations that he is "plunderer, criminal and womanizer."
"It only confirmed everything I said in my previous speech -- that she has the propensity to do personal attacks, personal assaults without an iota of proof," he said.
