MANILA – Grammy-winning artist Alicia Keys visited survivors of super typhoon “Yolanda” (international name Haiyan) on Monday, a few hours before her concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena.

Photos of Keys’s visit to Villamor Airbase were posted on the Facebook page of Philippine Information Agency – National Capital Region (PIA-NCR).

Wearing a white shirt and jeans, the short-haired singer was seen handing out school supplies to children.

Another photo showed Keys with director Alice Bonoan of the Department of Social Welfare and Development-NCR.

According to PIA-NCR, Keys “donated some crayons and other stuff for children” during her visit.

Keys arrived in Manila on Sunday night for Monday’s concert at the SM Mall of Asia Arena billed as “Set the World on Fire.”

The singer said she is hoping “to bring hope for the Filipino people” during her second visit to Manila.

Keys is the voice behind the hits “Karma,” “Fallin,’” “Unbreakable,” “If I Ain’t Got You,” “No One,” “Empire State of Mind” and “Girl on Fire.”
