MANILA -- A firestorm is sweeping through social media amid allegations that officials of the Iglesia ni Cristo in Iloilo refused to shelter typhoon victims.
A Facebook post made by a certain Mai Militante said her colleagues were refused shelter because they were not members of the sect.
The post drew various reactions, with many expressing dismay over the alleged incident.
Others, meanwhile, defended the INC, which further added fuel to the fire.
Some, however, denied that the incident took place.
Meanwhile, photos of another INC house of worship in Tacloban City that survived are also making rounds on the Internet.
