Weigmann was crowned by Young, the Filipina who won Miss World for the first time in 2013. She will compete in this year’s pageant which will be held in December in London.

The runners-up of Miss World Philippines 2014 include Lorraine Kendrickson (First Princess), Nelda Ibe (Second Princess), Nicole Donesa (Third Princess) and Rachel Peters (Fourth Princess).

In a previous interview, Weigmann said she wants to raise awareness for the needs of the Aeta community based in Tarlac.

In 2008, Weigmann joined the teen edition of “PBB,” which actor Ejay Falcon won. After her stint in the show, she went on to star in TV commercials, co-host noontime shows and appear on magazines.

When asked if she learned any lessons from the reality show that proved useful in a beauty pageant, she said: “Just be yourself because I’ve experienced it already, that sometimes you shouldn’t overthink. Basta ‘pag ikaw ‘yun, pakita mo lang.”

Last year proved to be a successful one for the Philippines when it came to beauty pageants. Aside from the country’s first ever Miss World title via Young, other beauty titlists last year include Bea Rose Santiago (Miss International) and Mutya Datul (Miss Supranational).

The Philippines has been in the Miss Universe Top 5 since 2010.
