MANILA - University of the Philippines (UP) Pep Squad's Cam Lagmay has been named as the Samsung Stunner in the 2014 UAAP Cheerdance Competition.
Lagmay received the highest number of votes in the online poll conducted by 2BUltimate, the collegiate sports section of the Philippine Daily Inquirer newspaper, via its Instagram page.
Rounding up the top 3 were Bianca Manalang of De La Salle University (DLSU), and Blaise Buendia of Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU).
The other cheerdancers who were nominated were Alexandra Nicole Viola of University of the East (UE), Amanda Alejandrino of National University (NU), and Jacqueline Dizon of Far Eastern University (FEU).
Past winners of the Samsung Stunner award, which recognizes the prettiest face among the participants in the UAAP Cheerdance Competition, include DLSU's Ana de Leon (2013), and UP's Nicolette Erica Arambulo (2012), Nesza Salvador (2011) and Frances Fleta (2010).
The 2014 UAAP Cheerdance Competition was held last September 14, with the NU Pep Squad emerging as winners. UP finished second and University of Santo Tomas completed the Top 3.
