MANILA – Artists of “The Voice of the Philippines” again dominated the Philippine charts of Apple’s iTunes store on Monday, just hours after it aired it revealed the show’s Top 4 who will compete in the grand finals next week.
The Top 4 contestants of the popular TV singing contest occupied the top 7 slots of the iTunes charts as of noon on Monday, led by Team Bamboo’s Myk Perez’s original song “Fix You” at No. 1.
On Sunday’s live performance show, each of the winning four contestants gave a preview of their original songs. “Slowly” by Team Sarah’s Klarisse de Guzman is at No. 2 on the charts, followed by “Bulag” by Team Lea’s Mitoy Yonting at No. 5 and “Coming Home” by Team Apl’s Janice Javier at No. 6.
Recorded versions of the Top 4’s performances on Sunday also made the iTunes charts, with De Guzman’s version of “To Love Somebody” at No 3, Perez’s reggae-fied “Baby I Love Your Way” at No. 4, Javier’s “Imagine” at No. 7 at Yonting’s “The Power of Love” at No. 12.
Previous performances of the contestants also remained in the charts, such as Perez’s “Chasing Pavements” (No. 9) and De Guzman’s well-praised “I Can’t Make You Love Me” at No. 10.
The highest charting eliminated contestant as of Monday was Radha for her Top 16 song, “Time After Time,” at No. 11.
The only foreign act in the iTunes Top 10 was Katy Perry, with her at worldwide hit single “Roar” at No. 8.
Last Sunday, four more artists were eliminated from the show. The Top 4 artists will compete at next weekend’s grand finals of the hit TV talent search, which will crown its first-ever winner on September 29.
