MANILA, Philippines – Amid allegations that Senator Vicente “Tito” Sotto III copied parts of his speech from someone else anew, Filipino netizens found a way to make light of the situation yet again.

Minutes after the Internet went abuzz that Sotto just translated parts of a speech originally delivered by the late US Senator Robert F. Kennedy but did not give him credit, several Twitter users started the hashtag “#Sinotto.”

Tweets with “#Sinotto” hashtag are posts where netizens translate famous English quotes to Filipino or vice versa.

The hashtag immediately made it to the local trending topics.
