MANILA – ABS-CBN Corporation won the Gold Stevie Award in the Company of the Year – Media and Entertainment category at the 11th Annual International Business Awards (IBA).
The awarding ceremony will be held in Paris, France on October 10.
As a result of the win, ABS-CBN will represent the Philippines in the vote-based People’s Choice Stevie Awards for Favorite Companies in the Media and Entertainment Category. The company will compete against the silver and bronze Stevie winners from the United Kingdom and United States in the said category.
Internet users can vote by visiting the Stevie Awards website (http://favoritecompanies.stevieawards.com/default.cfm). Voting ends on September 12.
The IBA, dubbed as the world’s premier business awards program, received entries from more than 60 nations and territories including the Philippines this year.
The Gold Stevie Award recognized ABS-CBN’s business achievements in the past year, particularly its high TV ratings and box office sales, groundbreaking ventures such as ABS-CBNmobile, theme park Kidzania Manila and TV shopping channel O Shopping, and public service initiatives like “Tulong Na, Tabang Na, Tayo Na.”
Last May, ABS-CBN and its president, Charo Santos-Concio, were recognized at the Asia Pacific Stevie Awards.
