MANILA, Philippines – Veteran hairdresser Ricky Reyes has offered to give singing sensation Charice a beauty makeover.

While many lauded Charice’s courage for coming out, many netizens also criticized the singer’s new look, accusing her of copying teen star Daniel Padilla's haircut.

In an interview with ABS-CBN News on Monday, Reyes, who owns a chain of beauty salons, said he is willing to do Charice’s hair and give her a look that fits her.

“Siguro, one of these days, I’d like to do her hair. I’d like to teach her what will fit her. Dapat may height, dapat may kaunting background [ang mukha], not all over her face. Because her face is rounded, medyo maliit pa siya. Kailangan lahat 'yun tinitignan,” he said.

When it comes to haircuts, Reyes said it should not just be about being trendy.

“Ang pagpuputol kasi ng buhok, hindi lang just because gusto mo putulin and uso. You don’t follow the trend. What she should look is kung ano ang bagay sa kanya,” he said.

Charice surprised a lot of people with her very short hair when she resurfaced after a long absence from local television.

"I think doon ako sa may boots, konting make-up. Pero siyempre, we are still trying to experiment kung ano 'yung right. Kasi tinatanong nila ako kung ano ang inspirasyon ko sa mga guys and ang inspiration ko si Chris Brown and Justin Bieber. So they will try to mix it up. It's gonna be totally different," the 21-year-old singer said about her new look.

After coming out of the closet in an interview on "The Buzz," Charice said she is also thrilled about her new image.

In another interview, Charice stressed that she is not trying to look like Padilla.

"Hindi po intention 'yon. Sana hindi mapikon si Bro (Daniel)," Charice said on "Gandang Gabi Vice" on Sunday.

"Nagpagupit lang po talaga ako. Hindi ko naman akalain na may ganyan. 'Yung madi-DJ," she added, referring to Padilla's nickname, DJ.
