MANILA, Philippines - TV personalities and now congresswomen-elect Lucy Torres and Lani Mercado are expected to bring glamor to Congress. The two women have in fact already chosen what to wear to the presidential inauguration and the State of the Nation Address (SONA).

Actresses Lucy Torres and Lani Mercado won congressional seats in Leyte and Cavite respectively.

Torres will wear a powder blue terno designed by Randy Ortiz at the inauguration of Benigno "Ninoy" Aquino III as president on June 30.

"She'll be wearing something similar to her wedding gown. May touch of baby blue. Kasi like her wedding, this is another milestone in Lucy's life," said Ortiz.

Designer Randy Ortiz has designed a powder blue terno for Lucy Torres.

Mercado, on the other hand, has already picked out what to wear for the new President's SONA in July -- a pink terno by designer Paul Cabral.

Paul Cabral is Lani Mercado's designer for her SONA gown.

The terno is a traditional Filipiniana gown widely popularized by former First Lady Imelda Marcos who wore it to state functions and formal events here and abroad. Usually made of pineapple fiber, the terno's distinctive features are the stiff butterfly sleeves and empire-style cut.

Both Torres and Mercado will be joining the House of Representatives for the first time.

Torres won the congressional seat for the 4th district of Leyte after substituting for her husband, actor Richard Gomez, who was disqualified for lack of residency.

On the other hand, Mercado, who is Jesusa Victoria Hernandez-Bautista in real life, won the lone congressional seat of Bacoor, Cavite. -- With report from Gretchen Fullido, ABS-CBN News
