Angelia Ong, who represented the City of Manila, was crowned 2015 Miss Philippines Earth on Sunday night.
During the question-and-answer portion of the competition, Ong was asked by actress-singer Zsa Zsa Padilla about her views on same sex marriage.
The 24-year-old beauty from the Philippines’ capital city said: “I think it really depends to the person, if he or she believes in sex marriage but for me, if the person feels that he or she needs to be married to show his or her love, then I don’t mind having [same] sex marriage. If you feel that that is love, then so be it.”
According to the Miss Earth website, Ong believes Miss Philippines Earth “is the perfect venue to express myself” and that “it will empower me to empower others to GET UP AND DO SOMETHING ABOUT our dying planet.”
