Manila branch of Tim Ho Wan opens May 20 1

MANILA – Hong Kong’s critically acclaimed Tim Ho Wan restaurant is set to open its doors to customers in Metro Manila on Tuesday, May 20.

Tim Ho Wan’s flagship restaurant in the Philippines is located at SM Mega Fashion Hall in Mandaluyong City. Branches at Glorietta in Makati and SM Mall of Asia in Pasay City are expected to follow suit within the year.

The Manila branch of Tim Ho Wan features a one-page menu of its bestsellers such as Baked Bun with BBQ Pork (P145 for three pieces), Pan-fried Carrot Cake (P145), Steamed Egg Cake (P85) and Vermicelli Roll with Pig’s Liver (P150).

Other items on the menu, as seen in this photo by the city guide Spot.ph, include steamed items such as Prawn Dumplings (P160), Beancurd Skin Roll with Pork and Shrimp (P120) and Spinach Dumpling with Shrimp (P120), and deep-fried treats like Spring Roll with Egg White (P120) and Wasabi Salad Prawn Dumpling (P140).

There is also one type of congee, a vegetable dish, three rice variants, two desserts and a short selection of drinks.

Tim Ho Wan, which started out as a hole-in-the-wall eatery in Hong Kong, is considered the cheapest Michelin-starred restaurant in the world.

The restaurant also has branches in Singapore.
