CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY, Philippines - Board of Election Inspectors have resorted to using ingenuous ways to solve paper jam problems in Cagayan de Oro as national elections continue on Monday.
In Buluasan Elementary School, BEIs were forced to use brooms to push the ballots further into the machine. Earlier, paper jams has delayed the voting in the said precinct.
In Brgy. San Consolacion, also in Cagayan de Oro, BEIs have resorted to shaking the machines to feed the ballots. The machines reportedly started working afterward.
According to locals, the humid temperature in the area remains a possible cause for the minor glitches in the machines.
More PCOS problems
Meanwhile, 10 PCOS machines were reported faulty in Na-awan Misamis Oriental, forcing the BEIs to resort to manual voting.
As PCOS machines cause delays in various areas in the country, Butuan City was not spared. BEIs have reported that they cannot access the security codes of one machine assigned in the area.
Despite long queues and the scorching heat, people still lined up to cast their votes in Northern Mindanao. -with Art Bondoc, ANC
