MANILA, Philippines - Manny "Pacman" Pacquiao earlier said that he was able to reach the pinnacle of his boxing career because of his faith in God and the support of his fans.

But does his abstinence from sex also help him win his battles?

Pacquiao's wife Jinkee recently told The Philippine Star columnist Ricky Lo that they make it a point to skip sex as early as 3 weeks before the fight.

This is a sharp contrast to another Filipino boxer, Nonito Donaire, who reportedly admitted that he does "it" with his wife Rachel on the eve of his match.

"We do (abstain). No sex talaga before a fight. Mga 3 weeks before his fight, hindi na pwede, bawal na," Jinkee said in the interview.

"Kuwentuhan na lang or hug-hug na lang, ganyan...Nothing, yakap-yakap lang talaga kapag natutulog kami."

Aside from sex, Pacquiao also avoids eating pork during training, Jinkee said. She added that the boxing champ prefers eating soup-based dishes such as tinolang manok.

"Simple lang. Kailangan may sabaw, tinolang manok. Chicken and beef but no pork. He eats them every day. Actually, he's not choosy with food," she said.

Pacquiao easily retained his World Boxing Organization (WBO) welterweight title after beating American boxer Shane Mosley in an evasive 12-round battle in Las Vegas on Saturday (Sunday in Manila).

Barely minutes after Pacquiao's successful title defense, his promoter Bob Arum started to map out plans for the Filipino superstar's next bout in November.
