MANILA, Philippines – The UP Singing Ambassadors (UPSA), Vox Angeli Children's Choir and The Angelos will come together for a charity concert on Friday at the Santuario de San Jose Parish in Greenhills East, Mandaluyong City.
“One Voice: A Mission to Share” is a project of the Music Ministry of Santuario de San Jose with PCSO, PLDT, Music Museum and ACSAT.
The country’s first all-male classical-pop tenor group (The Angelos) and the two choirs (UPSA and Vox Angeli) will sing inspirational and religious songs meant to heighten the call to communion and unity.
“We may be of many voices but we can sing with one voice. We may be of different interests and responsibilities but we can have one heart,” Santuario de San Jose parish priest Fr. Noel Magtaas, OSJ told abs-cbnNEWS.com.
Proceeds of the concert will benefit the construction of the St. Joseph Pastoral Center in West Crame, San Juan City.
“Music is a gift given to those who are talented individually speaking but it is a gift that can be shared to others, especially for a good cause,” Magtaas noted in a statement.
The concert will also benefit Santuario de San Jose’s musical director Raul Cortez, who is still comatose after falling into a coma in November 2009
Magtaas revealed that each group will have production numbers. Some numbers, meantime, will feature 2 of the 3 groups. “At the end, there will be one song, one voice,” he said of the last song number.
“One Voice: A Mission to Share” will be held at the Santuario de San Jose church on March 26, Friday, at 7:30 p.m. Ed Manguiat is the show’s musical director while Dingdong D. Cabazor is the director.
Tickets, which are priced at P1,000, P750, P500 and P300, may be purchased at the Santuario de San Jose Parish Office in Greenhills East, Mandaluyong City. Interested parties may call (02) 725-2044 and Telefax (02) 724-4139 or e-mail [email protected]
