Celebs mourn death of model Helena Belmonte

MANILA – Some local celebrities joined netizens in mourning the death of model Helena Belmonte, who fell off a building in Ortigas on Thursday.

On Instagram, actress Antoinette Taus wrote a message to Belmonte: “Your light will forever shine bright in our hearts. LA memories we will never ever forget. Rest in peace beautiful one. #gonetoosoon.”

Also on Instagram, socialite Divine Lee referred to Belmonte as “one of my funniest padawans.”

“You will be missed forever… Will miss your visits. I love you,” she wrote as she uploaded a photo of the model.

On Twitter, football player James Younghusband described Belmonte as “always a positive girl and looking for a good time with her friends.”

Makeup artist Xeng Zulueta posted two photos of herself with Belmonte on the microblogging site, saying that “my heart breaks” over the model’s death.

Radio host Andi Manzano-Reyes kept her message short as she hoped that Belmonte’s soul will “rest in peace.”

ABS-CBN journalist TJ Manotoc, meanwhile, expressed his condolences to Belmonte’s family.

Police said Belmonte fell off the 28th floor of the Renaissance Tower 1000 building in Ortigas and landed on an air-conditioning exhaust vent at the seventh floor at around 1:30 a.m. on Thursday.

Belmonte is a daughter of Lorraine Belmonte, founding creative director of One Mega Group Inc., which publishes glossy magazines such as Mega and Lifestyle Asia.
