MANILA - TV host Andi Manzano and her husband, restaurateur GP Reyes, welcomed their first child on Friday afternoon at the Makati Medical Center.
On Instagram, Manzano and Reyes shared the first photos of their daughter, whom they named Pilar Olivia. One photo shows Manzano cradling Olivia in a hospital bed, with Reyes at her side.
"I'm still speechless," Manzano said in the caption of one photo. "There are no words that can describe that moment when they hand you your baby and you hold her for the very first time and seeing your baby for the first time."
She added: "After 9 months of her being in my tummy... It's been such a journey from the moment we took the pregnancy test, to our regular checkups with our OB, to the contractions to this very moment that she's in my arms. I'm still overwhelmed and very much so in love with my child. I can't stop staring at Olivia. What a beautiful gift from above. Now we are three."
According to Reyes, he and Manzano had "been up since 11pm yesterday then rushed to the hospital at 5am." Olivia, he said, was born half past noon on Friday.
Reyes referred to Manzano as "my hero," noting her exhaustion in the process of giving birth. "I salute all mothers," he said. "What you girls go through is tough. But this wonderful gift of bringing life into the world is truly magical."
"Everyone says it," Reyes added in the caption of a photo showing him carrying Olivia. "It's the moment that will change your life... when you hold your baby in your arms for the first time. And it's true. There's no other joy in the world like this."
Manzano and Reyes, who first met in December 2010 through the TV host's celebrity cousin Luis, got marred in November 2013 at St. Joseph's Church in Baguio City.
