|"Himala - A Celebration of the Musical" will be staged at the PETA Center starting March 15.
MANILA, Philippines – The musical inspired by the Philippine classic movie “Himala” is set to mark its 10th anniversary through a concert to be held next week.
“Himala – A Celebration of the Musical” will feature songs from the musical “Himala, Ang Bagong Pagtingin sa Mukha ni Elsa” and will be staged at the PETA Center on March 15, 16, 17, 22, 23 and 24.
PETA’s Soxie Topacio serves as the director of the concert, as he did for the musical 10 years ago.
Performing at “Himala – A Celebration of the Musical” are Isay Alvarez-Seña, Cynthia Culig-Guico, Dulce, Kalila Aguilos, Jon Joven, Mia Bolaños, Myke Salomon, Lionel Guico, Melvin Lee and May Bayot-De Castro.
Also part of the concert are Angeli Bayani, Bong Cabrera, Joann Co, Mayen Estañero, Neomi Gonzales, Carlon Matobato, Red Nuestro and Only Torres.
The 1982 film “Himala” starring Nora Aunor was recently restored in high-definition quality by the ABS-CBN Restoration Project in partnership with Central Lab Inc. The digitally enhanced version of the film premiered at the 2012 Cinema One Originals Festival.
A coffee table book featuring the complete screenplay of “Himala” as well as unpublished photos and extensive interviews with the film’s cast and crew was also released last year.
