MANILA, Philippines - Ballet Manila's "Ballet and Ballads," which was originally scheduled this weekend, has been postponed to next month, organizers said Thursday.
Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, the show's principal dancer, sustained a minor injury during stage rehearsals, prompting the management to move the show dates to March 19, 20, and 21.
The prima ballerina assured her audience that she "will be back in a month's time."
"Definitely, I won't miss this chance to perform with the ultimate ballad icon," she said in a statement, referring to Basil Valdez, the main balladeer of the show.
Macuja-Elizalde is set to perform spot numbers to interpret Valdez's signature hits such as "Ngayon at Kailanman," "Kastilyong Buhangin," and "Corner of the Sky."
For those who already purchased their tickets for the original show dates (February 19, 20, and 21), Ballet Manila said they will be accommodated in the new schedule:
- March 19, 7:30 p.m.
- March 20, 5:00 p.m.
- March 21, 1 p.m.
"Ballet and Ballads" will still be held at the Aliw Theater at the CCP Complex, Roxas Boulevard, Pasay City.
