Bartender Rizza Umlas of TGIFriday's Glorietta makes history as the first female winner of the Asia-Pacific Region Bartending Championship.

She is now gearing up for the TGIFriday's World Bartending Championship in Texas. The compulsory round will be held on March 1, while the freestyle event will be on March 3.

To prepare for the big event, Umlas is currently refining her personal flairing techniques and signature moves.

"If I will be able to perform all these perfectly, I am confident that we will bring home the bartending crown," she said.

The World Bartender championship is an annual event that showcases heritage, knowledge, expertise and innovation in the beverage industry.

TGIFriday's Philippines has already produced top bartenders who won awards abroad. These include Matthew “Kryptonite” Burgos and Eric “El Terrible” Martinez, who was named 2007 first runner-up and 2006 champion respectively, at the TGIFriday’s World Bartender Championship in Las Vegas.
