MANILA - Actress Janice de Belen surprised members of the entertainment media on Tuesday with her new slender figure.

De Belen, who is part of ABS-CBN's upcoming series "Oh My G!" which will debut on January 19, said it took her seven months to lose weight.

Asked how she did it, the said she merely limited her rice intake and avoided eating junk food.

"Mahirap talaga. You know your metabolism changes. I have hypothyroidism, it is really hard. Alam mo I had to give up junk food. Kasi ang sarap manood ng may kinakain ka habang nanonood ako, lalo na 'yung nakakatakot. I had to give it up," she said.

"Hindi naman talaga ako nagda-diet. I gave up junk food. I try to stay away from rice. Sometimes it does not succeed. Exercise, diyan ako mahina," she added.

She admitted that her lifestyle change happened accidentally.

"Stressful ang mag-move ng house. So talagang siguro 'yun ang naging start, buhat ka ng gamit, ligpit ng gamit eh di ituloy-tuloy na natin," de Belen said.
