MANILA – Expect to see a half-Filipina in the next installment of the “Rurouni Kenshin” live action movie.
Maryjun Takahashi portrays the role of Yumi Komagata in the two-part sequel of the “Rurouni Kenshin” live action film.
According to a report on Cinema Today, Takahashi is half-Filipino and half-Japanese.
Fans of the popular anime and manga series know Komagata as the lover of the burnt and bandaged antagonist, Makoto Shishio.
Komagata is among the many other characters who will be part of “Rurouni Kenshin: The Great Kyoto Fire,” which will premiere in Japan on August 1; and “Rurouni Kenshin: The End of a Legend” on September 13.
The official website of the “Rurouni Kenshin” live action movie recently unveiled a production still showing members of the elite group Juppongatana along with their leader, Shishio (Tatsuya Fujiwara).
